Share a home and devices in the Google Dwelling house app

Important: If you apply the Nest app and haven't migrated to a Google Account, yous manage homes and people who share access to your habitation with the Nest app.

Switch between homes

  1. Open the Google Abode app Google Home.
  2. At the top, tap the name of the current home.
  3. Select a new dwelling house from the drop-downward. If the drop-down icon doesn't appear, it means you only have ane home in the Abode app.

Move a device to a different home

​​​​​​Note: Not all devices can be moved to a dissimilar domicile this way. Speakers, displays, and Chromecast tin be moved, just Nest Wifi point and Nest Hub Max can't. Some Nest and Wifi devices can't be moved to a different home. If you have a device that can't be moved to a different home, you lot need to factory reset your device and set it up again in a new home.

Delete a home

You can delete a domicile from the Home app if y'all're the merely home member.

If you aren't the but member of a domicile, you starting time need to remove all other members from the home with the Google Domicile app. Otherwise, you tin just remove yourself from the home, and the remaining domicile members still have access to the dwelling and its devices.

When you delete a dwelling house:

  • The abode is removed from your Google Business relationship.

To permit other people, similar family members or roommates, employ the devices in your home, add them as home members.

Only invite people you trust to become home members. When someone becomes a member of a home, the following info and settings are shared with them:

Full access and control of devices and services

Assistant features

  • Fix up personal results, Vocalisation Friction match and Face Friction match on existing and new Assistant-supported devices

You can't invite anyone using a:

  • Google Workspace (formerly One thousand Suite) account
  • Google Account for children under xiii (or the applicative historic period in your country)

A maximum of vi people can share a home.

Invite members to a home

Note: If the person yous want to invite has already requested to join your habitation, you need to accept that request instead of sending a new invitation.

Remove yourself from a home

When you remove yourself from a domicile:

  • You no longer have admission to the domicile and the devices and services associated with that dwelling.
  • Other members keep to have access to the domicile.
  • Other members should no longer have admission to the devices or services you gear up upwards, including Nest thermostats, alarms, locks or cameras. If y'all ready upwards a Nest Cam with your Nest Hub Max, the Nest Hub Max should also no longer exist available.

    Exceptions: Google Nest Wifi, Google Wifi, Assistant-enabled speakers and displays, and Chromecast devices should still be available to other domicile members even if you remove yourself from the abode.

  • Y'all no longer have admission to Nest Aware features, including video history.
  • Other members continue to have admission to Nest Aware features.
  • Your Google Television receiver account isn't removed from this domicile. You have to sign out of this account on this domicile's Google TVs or in account.google.com.
  • If yous're the only fellow member of the home, the habitation gets deleted, including domicile information such as video history footage and thermostat settings.

To remove yourself:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Switch to the home you want to edit.
  3. Tap Settings Household.
  4. Tap your account.
  5. At the top right, tap Remove memberand then  Leave home.

Remove other members from a home

When you remove members from a home:

  • They are notified that they were removed from the domicile.
  • They no longer have access to the devices or services in the home, and their business relationship is no longer linked to the devices.
  • Banana devices such as speakers and displays, including those set up by the removed member, should remain in your domicile. These devices are no longer linked to the abode fellow member y'all removed.

    Exception: Nest Hub Max might get removed and video history footage could be deleted.

  • They no longer have access to Nest Enlightened features, including video history.
  • Your Google Television receiver account isn't removed from this domicile. You have to sign out of this account on this domicile's Google TVs or in account.google.com.
  • If the member you remove from the abode migrated their Nest Account and Nest devices (such as cameras and thermostats) to a Google Account, those devices may be removed from the home. Data associated with their Nest devices and the home may be permanently deleted, including video history footage and thermostat settings.
